MARCH 2015 NEWSLETTER

Well Well Well, what a start to this new exciting year of twinshock motocross.

After the cancellation of Tinto due damp patches (i bet a male stripper show doesn’t get cancelled due to damp patches) the committee worked franticly to reorganise an alternative venue. Vice Chairman Hoppy managed to pull a few strings and get his litterbug mate Craig Meechan to contact Jocky Fleming to contact myself to see if we could get the use of the Leuchars track. As luck would have it Leuchars was free, so at the last minute wee Jocky saved the day by giving us the use of the track.

Your new race reporter-starter Allan Hughes has compiled a super report and it can be read on the club website www.scottishtwinshock.com or in the T.M.X.News which is in the Newsagents on a Friday.

Caroline Napier and a few other club supporters were out in force with their cameras and other devices taking loads of action photo’s which can be viewed via the club forum or on facebook, so go on have a good look and see what you are like in action.

A first for the club was the use of our new up to date lap timing system Graeme Anderson is our Mylaps Supremo. Considering the amount of bikes and other issues he had to deal with on the day i thought he did a super job, only 2 complaints, it turned out 1 had only 1.5 volts in his transponder and the other was an old transponder that was showing as having not been paid-activated, so all in all a perfect day for the new system. You have to feel a bit of pity for some of the guys that rode well but never scored points because of transponders issues. The club is moving forward and it was November that we decided to go down this road so you all had plenty time to get sorted out with the equipment and get it logged in, there were even practice days arranged at Cupar, where any rider could go and make sure it was all in working order so when i really think hard about it i don’t suppose we should feel any pity for anyone. If you want to score points, you must make sure you are kitted out with a working, charged, activated, mylaps transponder in future. We must now realise that if you race with the twinshock club and score championship points then a transponder is now an essential part of the equipment you need. If you just want to race for the fun of it with no transponder then you are still as welcome as the next guy but sadly no points.

The Annual Club Dance and Presentation has been booked at The Ochilview Lounge in Fishcross on Saturday the 24th of October at 7-30 P.M. , Tickets are now on sale and will be limited to 2 per member as there is a limit of 80 and we must make sure that members get a fair chance of getting a ticket. They will be the normal price of £10 a Head .There is a no children after 11-P.M. Policy at this venue, please bear this in mind if you are taking the weans but we will still have to charge the £10 ticket fee for children as they are part of the 80 limit when a head count is taken. The usual Buffett, Disco, Presentation and Raffle are all part of the evenings proceedings and it should be a great night for all.

I have just placed an order for a load of top quality Wulfsport T-Shirts with a revamped club logo front and back, the initial order is for blue and black but we may stock other colours in future if you the members want more choice. They are very competitively priced at only £10 each, to save all the hassle with different prices for different sizes, i have averaged out a one price fits all so the small ones might think they are being hard done to but what about the big fatties, what a bargain they will be getting and they can spend the change on more pies and lager. They will be on sale at Argyll Moto Park Lochgilphead when we go there for round 2 of this super Championship.

Stewart Campbell has been very busy of late getting the Argyll track into super condition for round 2 so all we need is some good weather and we will be sorted. Stewarts track is also open most weekends for practice.
