2015 R2 Lochgilphead
R2 Mid Argyle moto park Lochgilphead 26/4/15

For round two of the Scottish Twinshock Championship a visit to Mid Argyle moto park was in order and once again the weather gods were kind and the track was in great condition dispite heavy rain on the friday before the meeting.
First to the line was the pre 77 class and yet another dominant display by local man Richie McFadden with three gate to flag wins on his maico,Don Fullerton and Alan Adair went hard at it for second and third overall respectivly dispite Alan snapping off a foot peg mid way through the second race.
The four stroke class once again seen big Ricky Caldwell take three race wins, Callum Wilson with two seconds and a forth claimed second overall on the day and a good haul of points on the big honda, Joe McLean had another good day with a solid third overall just goes to show there is life in the old dog yet.
The over fifty class was another close fought affair with Davie Pullar notching up two race wins and a second for the overall, Scott Napier chased Pullar hard in race one and two with less than a wheel length between them at the finish in both races, however in race three Napier put in a last lap pass which he held to the line and a second overall, Johnny Rutherford claimed the last spot on the podium.
Next up was the under 300cc Twinshock class Alex Joiner put in some very fast laps to take three race wins unchallenged and the top step on the podium, Mike Vandermerwe and James Hill traded places in all three races with Vandermerwe claiming second and Hill third overall on the day.
On to the line came the Twinshock open class and as round one messers Smith and Chiappa were at it again with Smith taking race one and chiappa winning race two, now the race three showdown, Chiappa was fast out of the gate with Smith in persuit with two laps to go the clutch on Smith's 440 Maico started slipping, but a slight overshoot on the second to last corner by Chiappa saw Smith pounce for the race win and the overall on the day with Chiappa second, Brian Allardice put in a sterling days work to claim third on the podium ahead of James Mclean who tied on points.
The 125 Evo class has been growing in popularity over the last few seasons and has seen some very good racing, Roy Potts was the man to beat at Lochgilphead with two race wins and a second to take the top spot on the podium and some solid points, Brian Colligan chased Potts hard but could not find an opening untill the closing laps of the last race to take the race win and two seconds for second overall, Kieran Smart put in a good days work for third overall but could not match the pace of Potts and Colligan.
Blasting out of the gate was the evolution class, this class produced the closest racing of the day with positions at the front changing every lap this class could go right down to the wire at the end of the season, Brian Alexander ended the day with a race win a second and a third for the overall Gordon Morrison with a win a second and a forth took second on the podium, Davie Ross jnr put in a solid effort for third overall showing a turn of speed for a race two win a change of bike this year seems to be paying off.
The modern two stroke championship so far is being dominated by Jason Martin fresh from the scott nationals the pervious weekend Martin was in top form with three race wins unchallenged for the overall, Bob Jack chased Martin hard but could match the pace of the Yamaha mounted Martin three second places was good enough for second overall, young Shaun Rennie has found form this year with another third overall he will be one to watch at the end of the season for the championship, racing in the monoshock races was moto gp star John Mcphie, the Oban man having some time off from testing with his moto 3 team and made the short trip to lochgilphead to race his Honda cr 125 not only is he very quick on a moto 3 bike his motocross skills are very good to say the least, John indicated that time permitting he would like to race more with the club.
John Adamson put on yet another masterful display in the monoshock championship races with three wins to take the overall, Ryan Mclean chased Adamson hard in all three races and was never more than a few bike lenths away but try as hard as he could was unable to make up any time on the blisteringly fast Adamson, Alan Shields kept the rest of the pack behind him with two thirds and a forth for the last podium place, the question everone is asking right now is who can stop Adamson running away with the championship.
